Fall Festival
The Horizon Fall Festival will be next Wednesday, November 4th from 4:30-7:00pm. There will be food, games, and activities. We hope to see everyone there!
We will also be raffling off a basket as a fundraiser. We are asking families to contribute to the basket by sending in 1-3 small items. The theme for our Kindergarten basket is Crayola. Any kind of markers, glue, crayons, colored pencils, coloring books, scissors, etc. would be great! We will be collecting items through Friday, 10/30.
Fall Fest Wristbands will be on sale at the festival for $5. If you wish to purchase yours early, you get a discounted price of $3 each.

October Newsletter
Week of October 26-30, 2015
Learning Focus:
Math- We will learn numbers 8 and 9: identifying, writing, making representations, and identifying groups. We will continue working on one-to-one correspondence, counting, and sorting. We are working on counting to 50.
Reading – We will learn letters "Hh" "Xx". We will name and identify objects that begin with "H" and end with "X" sounds. We are also beginning to blend sounds together to make words.
These are the letters we have introduced so far this year:
A, C, O, G, T, F, S, P, I, N, H, and X.
Please have your child practice naming these at home. All students should be able to name the capital and lowercase of these letters, as well as tell you all the sounds each letter makes.
We will be working on the Sight Words: has and no. Please practice them at home.
These are the Sight Words your child should be able to proficiently read at this point:
a, and, are, can, is, me, my, on, see, the, little, you, I, has, no, and for.
Writing – We are working on writing the letters "Hh" and "Xx" correctly. They are both line letters, meaning they start at the line. "H" has been very tricky for some children. Please continue to help your child form "Hh" correctly. We are continuing to work on it at school. Thank you!
Please reinforce this at home. Please also continue helping your child write his/name correctly. It is VERY important that children form their letters correctly NOW, when we are learning them.Thank you!
